Winter Snow Reminders

Dear Team 15 Families,

Enjoy some pictures from our first recess playing in the snow!

Friendly reminders:
  • Please send your child to school with snow pants, boots, mittens, scarfs, and hats in a separate bag.  Children are only allowed to go in the snow if they have boots on.  If they don't have them then they stay on the blacktop.  We go outside everyday unless the temperature if freezing.
  • Make sure your child has extra clothes and SOCKS!  Socks tend to get wet a lot when they are changing out of their boots.  5 kids had to change their socks today.
  • If your child wears boots to school, make sure you pack separate shoes or slippers for them to change into.
We are doing a special project this week.  Please send your child with a hat, gloves, and a scarf even if it's not cold out or snowy every day this week.  They need them for a project and will take them home every night.  Thank you for your help with this.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Susan

We Earned Our GOLD Star!

Team 15 earned our GOLD star!  It's hanging outside our classroom door.  Come and check it out!!

Letters b and d Reversal Strategy

Which is the ‘b’? Here’s a trick that’s great. First is the line, standing tall and straight.
Next is the circle, like a pillow for your head. That’s ‘b’, the first letter in ‘bed’.
Which is the ‘d’? This trick beats them all.
First comes the circle, round like a ball. Next comes the line, tall and straight. That’s the letter ‘d’.
Isn’t that great? Line and circle is the letter ‘b’. Circle and line is the letter ‘d’. . .

Winter Clothes

The cold weather is here!

  • Please send your child to school with extra winter clothes.  We will send the summer extra clothes home with your child.  Please include several extra pairs of socks as when winter comes, socks tend to get wet a lot.
  • When snow starts to come, please send your child to school with boots, snow pants, change of shoes, hats, gloves, scarves, etc...in a different bag than their backpack.  Make sure to label your child’s name on everything.  It’s a good idea to devise a plan with your child for where they should put their gloves when they aren’t using etc…and practice this routine at home.  Students tend to lose many winter items no matter how hard Stephanie and I try to help and organize all their belongings.  Thank you for your help with this!
  • Please bring in a pair of slippers for your child if you wish.  Students are welcome to change into their slippers to be comfy.  They will change back in their shoes for specials and recess.  This is optional.

Thank you for your help with this!

Short Vowel Song

Ms. Kaplan Occupational Therapy Program Week 3

Here is a letter from Ms. Kaplan about what we did in class today.  A paper copy is also going home in your child's backpack today.

The students made spiders in class today to practice cutting with scissors.  We are going to hang them up in the classroom and will take them home after our Fall Festival.
